Reed Line Dancers
Reed Line Dancers meet every Monday evening at the
Village Hall. If you haven’t tried line dancing, you
haven’t lived! Everyone is welcome, from semi-
professional to absolute beginners.
Reed Readers
A small friendly group who meet to discuss books we
have chosen to read. Nibbles may be consumed and
a glass of wine help the comments along.

Indoor Bowls
The Reed Bowls Club meets every Tuesday evening at
8pm for an evening of indoor bowls in the Village
Hall. Membership is £3 per year and the cost to play
is £2 an evening. The season runs from the first
Tuesday in September to the last Tuesday in May. It is
a great opportunity to get together during the week
for some light exercise and to catch up. For more
information please contact Shirley Shepherd or Janet
Shepherd.
Reed Choir
Formed in the summer of 2014 to sing a choral
evensong to conclude a flower festival at St Mary;’s
Church, Reed Choir now has over 30 members aged
from 8 to 80, drawn not only from Reed but also from
other local villages.

Reed Community Library
The Reed Community Library is held in the school
every other Saturday during term time. Everyone is
welcome to come along between 10 and midday.
Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while browsing the large
stock of books. There are books to suit all ages: non-
fiction, a good range of classic fiction and the latest
paperback best-sellers.
Reed Cricket Club
Reed has hosted a Cricket Club since 1956. The
Cricket Club has met particular success recently,
winning the National Village Cup in 2012, 2017 and
again in 2019, making it one of a select few clubs to
have triumphed in the competition three times.

Reed Gardening Club
We meet every second Wednesday in the Village Hall.
Interesting speakers on all aspects of gardening.
Annual Show and a plant sale. A must for all keen
gardeners in Reed and the surrounding towns and
villages. See the notice board for our next event.
Contact Hazel Hewett for more information (07970

Reed Pudding Club
Not what you might think! When you come to any of
Reed’s events you will soon discover Reed’s pudding
club - a happy band of (mostly) ladies who produce
sweet courses to die for.
Save the Cabinet Action Group
The Action Group was formed in 2016 to try to
prevent the last pub in Reed being turned
permanently into a house. As well as leading local
resistance to the current planning applications, it
arranges various social and fundraising events.
More on the group’s website.
Reed Sing-song
Join us for a relaxed evening of community singing at
Reed Village Hall. Words are displayed on a screen to
sing along with us and the guitar accompaniment to a
wide variety of songs. Bring along your own drinks,
cups and snacks. Children are also most welcome.
Proceeds for each Sing Song evening go to charity.
Contact Liz Jakeman to find out more information or
keep an eye on the Village Events Calendar to see
when our next evening is scheduled.
Friends of Reed Church
The Friends of Reed Church is a registered charity and
was set up in January 2005 to raise money to help
fund the cost of repairs and maintenance of the
